Anthea Turner and her husband Grant Bovey have separated after 13 years of marriage. The TV star confirmed the news after reportedly becoming embroiled in a series of rows with her spouse in recent months. In a statement she said, "I can confirm we have separated. I need time to consider my immediate plans and will be making no other comment at this time."

Anthea Turner split

Anthea, 53, briefly split from property developer Grant, 51, last year after finding out about his "friendship" with 25-year-old interior designer and socialite Zoe de Mallet Morgan while she was away working in Canada. While no official reason has been given for the split, sources have said Anthea struggled to put the incident behind her. "It's over and Anthea is heartbroken," a friend told the Sun. "She had tried to make it work, but what happened last year was always hanging over them. "She just doesn't want to be with Grant anymore. As far as she is concerned, he is not the man she fell in love with. "In an interview trhee months ago, Anthea said she felt partially responsible for her marital problems. "My decision to pursue my career in Canada doesn't look so sensible now," she told the Sunday Mirror."Long periods apart are never good for a healthy relationship. But then we are all fallible. We all make mistakes. "At the beginning, when I found out about Grant's friendship, let's call it, with another woman, I was like a rabbit in headlights. I didn't know what to do.

"Should I cut off my nose to spite my face? Should I stand by my principles? Or was there still enough love between the two of us to try and put it right?" Anthea and Grant later reconciled and she allowed him back into the £5 million Surrey home that they shared with his three daughters from a previous relationship.

The couple have also faced financial pressures in their marriage; the one-time TV golden girl had to sell her £10 million estate in 2009, and a year later Grant was declared bankrupt after the collapse of his property company Imagine Homes.
