June 18, 2013

Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has been left "shaken" after three armed men broke into her Cheshire home hours after she had tweeted she was home alone.

The burglary happened last night as the three men forced their way into the actress' home as she waited for boyfriend Scott Sinclair to return home to the property in Alderley Edge.

The former I'm A Celebrity star is said to be "shaken," but her spokesman assured that she is "coping well".

The three men stole jewellery and a mobile phone from the property before escaping.

The burglars, who were armed with a screwdriver and a saw, barged their way into the star's home hours after Helen had revealed she was at the property alone.

"Super tired today, which makes me emotional, sensitive and mental!" she tweeted.

"Can't wait to have my boyfriend home."

Helen is reportedly now planning to stay with a friend after the burglary.

This afternoon, a spokesman for Cheshire Police confirmed the incident had taken place and an investigation was ongoing. "We are investigating a burglary at a private address in Prestbury", they revealed. "The investigation into the incident is continuing."

In recent weeks, it was reported the actress had split from footballer Scott. However, Helen was quick to insist the two were still "very much in Love".

"We clash and have ups and downs, like most couples," said the 22-year-old former I'm a Celebrity... contestant. "It's my private business but we haven't split."

Helen has been with Manchester City star Scott Sinclair for four years. Speaking for the first time about their relationship troubles, she admitted that although they have their problems, they are still together.

"We're fiery and passionate but we truly love each other," she said of her 24-year-old footballer beau. "And when you find someone you love, you work through your problems."
