Kim Kardashian has left the hospital with her newborn baby girl and boyfriend Kanye West. The new parents left the luxury maternity suite in Los Angeles's Cedars Sinai Medical Centre and are resting in a private location with their new arrival, according to TMZ

Mother and baby normally stay in the hospital two days after giving birth, but Kim's stay was extended to four days due to complications with her pregnancy – she went into premature labour in about the 37th week of her pregnancy.

She had a natural birth and delivered on Saturday, and it has since been reported that the early delivery could have been triggered by pre-eclampsia, a medical condition marked by high blood pressure. Kim's blood pressure was said to be "skyrocketing" with "the baby in distress," according to US Weekly.

Despite having left the medical facility, she will no doubt be resting and taking extra precautions over the next couple of weeks, as advised by her doctor. "For the next two weeks, Kim wants Kanye around 24/7," a source told the magazine.

"Kim is a bit freaked out, but the baby's breathing is fine." To add to her medical worries, Kim is said to be having trouble breastfeeding. "She has been telling friends that it is really hard, so we don't know how much longer she's really going to do it," a family source said.

During her pregnancy, Kim has suffered various medical conditions and health scares. The swelling could have been a symptom of pre-eclampsia, and Kim herself complained about her swollen feet and ankles.

She wisely ditched her high heels on several occasions and walked around in flip flops, and sought medical advice when her condition worsened.
