In June Olivier let slip that the couple are expecting a baby boy. It was widely thought that the couple were preparing for a boy, but the French actor confirmed their child's gender when speaking at the Champs-Elysées Film Festival. "My son will be an American, but I remain French," Olivier told People magazine at the opening night of the festival on 12 June, where he was serving as the event's honorary president with Halle attending as his guest of honour. The couple plan to move back to Olivier's home country when Nahla turns 18. They had wanted to move to France sooner, but a US judged ruled against this as it would prevent Gabriel from having regular access to his daughter.
