Kylie Jenner rings in sweet 16th birthday with swish family dinner

Kylie Jenner celebrated her sweet 16th with a lavish family dinner in Malibu, California on Saturday.But a couple of Kardashians were missing – big sister Kim Kardashian and baby North. New mum Kim stayed at home with her daughter while the rest of the family headed out to ring in the special birthday of Kris and Bruce Jenner's youngest child, who turned 16 on Saturday.The Kardashian-Jenner clan held a private party at Malibu's swish sushi restaurant Nobu, and though Kim didn't attend, there was an extensive guest list to make up for her absence.

Mum Kris Jenner, sister Kendall Jenner, half-sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, and Scott Disick were all there.

Kylie's boyfriend, Will Smith's son Jaden also attended the exclusive party, which was being filmed by the E! crew for Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Rob Kardashian reportedly did not make the dinner, nor did Kim's partner Kanye, according to In Touch.

Kylie looked the princess of the ball as she was presented with a wonderful cream birthday cake decorated with a heart and 16 candles, which she blew out with delight as the moment was captured on camera.

The birthday girl was also inundated with heartwarming messages from her friends and family.

Kim took the time to post a split photo showing Kylie with her older sister Kendall, 17, as young girls, with a more recent shot of the teens striking a similar pose. "Happy Birthday to my baby sis @kyliejenner !!!! Can't believe your 16! I love you so much!" tweeted Kim to her more than 18 million followers.

Kourtney Kardashian, 34, went even further, posting a 30-photo montage of Kylie and the Kardashians.

Meanwhile, Khloe Kardashian posted a mini family album online, sharing a pic of her with sister Kylie, pouting at the camera, followed by six pictures of just the two sisters together. "Happy birthday to my sweet sweet @kyliejenner. No one could ever understand the bond we have and I love that! We understand our weirdness and that's love man!" wrote Khloe.

Kris Jenner also wished her young daughter happy birthday online, showing off their striking resemblance in a photo of the mother-daughter duo.

Kylie took to Twitter the following day to share her joy at her birthday celebrations and all her messages: "Thank you everyone for the bday wishes and making yesterday so special! Blessed!"She then wrote, "Honestly had the most amazing night. "Another lavish birthday bash is expected to take place on Saturday 17 August, to which Kylie has invited 100 guests.

"Happy Birthday @kyliejenner !!! Sixteen years old is a little crazy!," Kourtney wrote in the caption.
