Kim Kardashian criticised "fake media friends" on her Twitter account on Friday. The new mum uploaded a photo of a baby gift and note sent to her by journalist Katie Couric. She accompanied the picture with two hashtags to vent her frustration."#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkSh*t," the 32-year-old wrote.
Kim was angered by an interview that was published last week in which Katie said she could not understand why Kim and the Kardashians are famous. "I don't understand – why are they so famous? I think it's mostly teenage girls that are interested," Katie told In Touch.
The former Today Show anchor has since apologised to the reality TV star.
"I've met Kim before and I think she's a really sweet person," she told E! News.
"I was responding to a reporter's question, and explaining how I'm intrigued by the public's fascination with her family," she explained. "I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I'm happy for Kim and Kanye."
The altercation comes as Kim gradually makes her way back into the public eye since giving birth to her and Kanye West's baby daughter North West in June.
Last week, Kim and her little girl were spotted out in public for the first time.
The fashion designer was with her boyfriend Kanye West and a nanny, who carried North – nicknamed North - in a car seat covered by a blanket. The couple looked relaxed and happy, and Kanye was spotted placing an arm around his girlfriend.Kim, who carried a large Hermes handbag, was dressed casually in a denim shirt, leggings and tassled boots in the photographs obtained by TMZ.
It was the first time that the couple have been photographed together since the birth, and the first time that the public have had a glimpse of baby Nori.
The couple have received of plenty of media offers for the first pictures of their daughter, but HELLO! understands that they have so far not accepted any of these offers.
It was recently reported that Kanye West has bought a £776,000 armoured car to keep Kim and their first child safe.
