Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem enjoyed an evening out on Tuesday, just one month after the birth of their baby girl. The two Oscar winners headed out for a romantic dinner at swish restaurant Palacio de Cibeles in the heart of Spain's capital, Madrid. There, they took some time away from their new baby daughter, who was born in Ruber Internacional hospital in Madrid on 22 July, the same day that Kate Middleton welcomed her little boy in St Mary's Hospital in London.
During their evening out, the two Spanish stars looked casual and relaxed as they posed with the restaurant's chef and the team of staff.
Soon after their visit to the restaurant – which offers city views from the rooftop terrace – photographs were posted on social media site Facebook by the restaurant's chef and an employee. But no sooner were they published, they were taken down.
In a recent interview Penelope, who, along with her husband is notoriously private, revealed that she was keen to keep her children out of the spotlight. "I want my son and my kids – if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible," she said. "The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy. "Their little girl is Penelope and husband Javier's second child – they are already parents to two-year-old son Leonardo, who was born at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles in 2011.As a new mother, Penelope is keeping active and ensuring she gets quality time with her husband. She was equally as energetic during her pregnancy, right up to the days before the birth when she was spotted in high spirits at the Los Veranos de la Villa Music Festival in Madrid.
