September 19, 2013

It's the VMA performance everyone is still talking about – and that, it seems, is exactly what Miley Cyrus wanted. "You're always gonna make people talk, you might as well make them talk for like two weeks, rather than two seconds," the star can be seen saying in a new trailer for her upcoming documentary, Miley: The Movement

The 20-year-old singer, who came under fire after her raunchy performance with Robin Thicke at the music awards, can also be seen hinting at a memorable show in footage filmed beforehand.Sitting down with Britney Spears, Miley tells her, "Everyone takes the VMAs so seriously and I just wanna come out and like shoot a hot dog gun. I just wanna have fun!"The star can also be heard addressing her transformation from Disney princess to a mature recording artist. "I was like born to become who I am right now," she explains. "Right now I'm at a point in my career where I can be exactly who I wanna be, what I wanna be.

"I have this freedom to do whatever I want because I'm starting as a new artist now. Every time I do anything I wanna remember this is what separates me from everybody else. "It's been a mixed week for Miley. On Wednesday, her new single Wrecking Ball reached the top spot on the US Billboard charts - her first ever number one. That news will have come as a welcome distraction for Miley given the troubles in her personal life.On Monday, Miley and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth confirmed that they had called off their 16-month engagement, bringing to an end a tumultuous year in their relationship.Miley, 20, and Liam, 23, reportedly broke up a number of times since the start of 2013; they did reunite briefly over the summer, but recently seem to have been living separate lives.Australian actor Liam has since been linked to 23-year-old Mexican beauty Eiza Gonzalez. The pair were spotted partying together at a VIP club in Las Vegas at the weekend, and were also spotted together the following day.He has reportedly extended an olive branch to Miley, telling her she can keep her engagement ring following their split. The beautiful band, which Liam gave to the singer in May 2012, is a 3.5 carat diamond ring from jeweller Neil Lane, handcrafted in 18 karat golf and featuring intricate floral diamond motifs. It is thought to be worth $250,000.
