September 20, 2013

Some very exciting news for Gary Barlow fans. In November, the Take That singer will release his first solo album in 14 years. The 42-year-old announced the long-awaited release on Twitter this week, telling fans, "After 14 long years, I'm proud to announce my new solo album on November 25th! I'm excited for u to hear it. More info to follow #gbsolo. "The title of his third solo release — the follow-up to his 1999 album Twelve Months, Eleven Days — is yet to be confirmed.

Gary has, of course, enjoyed huge success with Take That, and as a judge on The X Factor. The November release date of his new album does coincide with the current series of the show, so fans will no doubt be hoping to hear the first single performed during the live rounds.

Previous judges Cheryl Cole and Kelly Rowland both promoted their singles on The X Factor, and there is a chance that Gary will decide to follow in their footsteps.Gary has already suggested that music will be his focus once he leaves The X Factor after this year's final. Earlier this summer he confirmed that Take That were working on a new album.

Speaking at the launch of The X Factor in August, he said, "There will be a Take That album next year, I can promise you that."

Gary first went solo in 1996 following Take That's split, and achieved two No.1 singles with Forever Love and Love Won't Wait.

His debut solo album Open Road also reached the top of the charts, but his second, Twelve Months, Eleven Days, didn't match its success.Dad-of-three Gary returned to the spotlight in 2006 with Take That's comeback album Beautiful World. He played an important part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and in 2012 was awarded an OBE for his services to music and charity.

He currently stars on the X Factor judging panel alongside Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.
