Marvin Humes shares a tender moment with Alaia-Mai after confirming new role on The Voice

September 20, 2013

It's an exciting time for Marvin Humes as he cements his transition from musician to star of the small screen. Just this week, the JLS singer was announced as a co-host for hit BBC music show The Voice, following his successful debut as a TV presenter on This Morning with wife Rochelle. But there is one role Marvin values above all others — as a daddy to four-month-old Alaia-Mai. Their beautiful father-daughter bond was captured in a touching family photograph posted by Saturdays star Rochelle this week.

The snap shows Marvin, 28, tenderly cradling his baby girl, his hand gently supporting her neck as he brings her close for a cuddle. No doubt he feels particularly protective towards Alaia-Mai after she was involved in a minor traffic accident last week with her mother.Last week, Rochelle took to Twitter to reassure fans that she and her daughter were both well following the incident.

"Hey guys, just seen your tweets," wrote the mother-of-one. "Me and Alaia okay, someone drove into the back of us, not very nice but could have been worse x.""Sometimes the shock is worse," she added. "Just worried about her! But all is fine now. Thanks for all of your sweet msgs xxx. "Rochelle, 24, and Marvin welcomed their firstborn on 20 May — and two weeks later, fans were given their first proper glimpse of the newborn.

"We know you guys wanted to see a picture of our little Princess," wrote Marvin next to the family photo. "Mummy and Daddy are very overprotective but here's a precious picture, she's a little camera shy x. "The couple were married at Blenheim Palace in July 2012. Since becoming parents, they have worked together after landing a part-time slot on This Morning while the show's usual presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were away on holiday. Then, on Tuesday, Marvin confirmed he would be replacing Reggie Yates as the co-host of The Voice alongside Emma Willis.Original presenters Holly Willoughby and Reggie, alongside former judges Jessie J and Donny O'Donoghue, will not be returning when the talent competition begins its third series next year.Joining will.i.am and Tom Jones on the judging panel will be Kylie Minogue and Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson.
