One Direction's Liam Payne has taken to Twitter to thank his fans for their support, after his followers went into overdrive announcing the death of Liam's grandfather.
"Thanks for everyone's support at this hard time obviously this has been a tough few weeks for me I've never been through anything like this," wrote Liam.
"And your support means the world so thanks guys night x," he added.
Fans of the pop singer and five-strong boy band, who affectionately call themselves the One Directioners, immediately responded to Liam's tweets using the hashtags #StayStrongLiam and #DirectionersAreWithYouLiam among others.
"#RIPGrandpaPayne #StayStrongLiam @Real_Liam_Payne Stay strong babe! I know the feeling of losing your grandfather! It sucks :( I love you!," wrote one fan."@Real_Liam_Payne #StayStrongLiam I hope you're better... I'm so sorry about your grandfather! We all love you and we're here to support you!" tweeted another.
The funeral will reportedly be held on Wednesday, but Liam will be unable to attend as he is currently on tour in Australia with his fellow bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.
The band have travelled all over the world, from Europe and the US to New Zealand. They will end their tour in Japan on 3 November.
