Britney Spears has spoken about her latest album, Britney Jean, calling the lead-up to its release "nerve-racking".The pop princess spent an entertaining morning chatting to Nick Grimshaw on the BBC presenter's Radio 1 Breakfast Show."On my way to @R1Breakfast! Excited to catch up with my friend @grimmers this AM!!" wrote Britney.
When asked how she felt once she'd finished recording the album, Britney gave her honest reply. "It's really nerve-racking because you spend so much time on it, and you're like, 'I've been really dedicated to this album,'" said Britney. "It's like my baby coming to life. This album is very different to any I've ever done. It's very moody and electric and different. It's pretty cool. "The Work B**** singer went on to explain the personal meaning behind the name of her eight studio album, Britney Jean, which is her nickname from close friends and family. "I wanted to share it with my fans because it's a term of endearment when they call me that," said Britney. "So I kind of want to share it with everyone."
Just last month, the mother-of-two announced her plans to take on a two-year residency in Las Vegas
. Britney revealed she would be bringing out her old costumes for her performances, including the iconic school girl outfit from her debut single, Hit Me Baby One More Time."Everything was just so surreal and really cool and really different at the beginning," said Britney, reminiscing on her first hit 15 years ago. "I was just really happy to be there. "The pop star, who clearly enjoyed Nick's entertaining company, then invited the show host to come see her performing in Las Vegas. "Thanks to @britneyspears for coming in & eating croissants & playing 'Britney Literally Spears' with us <3," tweeted Nick, alongside a snapshot of the duo striking poses in a photo booth.Britney has been enjoying her 4-day stint in London, promoting her latest single and upcoming album. Just earlier this week she stopped by ITV for an interview with Alison Hammond. "With the lovely @AlisonHammond2 after filming a really fun interview for @itvthismorning," wrote the pop star.
