Real Housewives of the OC star Vicki Gunvalson is best known for her no-nonsense approach to life on the hit reality TV show.

During her nine-year stint on the show her rollercoaster love life often hit headlines following her split from husband Donn Gunvalson and subsequently her boyfriend Brooks Ayers.

Does the OC bring a lot of pressures in terms of looking good?

Absolutely – you never feel pretty enough or skinny enough.

How body-confident are you?

I am extremely insecure when it comes to my body. I don't spend every day in the gym (which I should) and therefore my body looks like it does. I'm getting back into working out at least four times week which always increases my confidence.

Do we see the real you on the show?

I actually think the 'real me' does come out on the show. I am very emotional, very passionate, a very hard worker, I love my insurance business and my family is everything to me.

Is there anything you've done or said on the show that you've later regretted?

Yes, I am actually a very private person and very shy when it comes to anything intimate. Anything that was filmed that crossed that line is something I will always regret.

What is the biggest misconception people have about you?

That I go around screaming 'woo hoo' all the time or that I scream all the time. That is not the case.

How has your life changed since the show?

I feel sometimes I am in a glass bubble, where everything I do and say is criticized or scrutinized. I really have to be more careful and choose my words very cautiously.

Your Twitter bio says you're a hopeless romantic - have you always been that way?

I love being in love. I remember my High School boyfriend told me that. I think it's just the way I am and how God designed me. That's not all bad is it?

What kind of pressure does having your relationships on screen bring?

Huge pressure! Unfortunately my boyfriend was under a lot of scrutiny the past few years which has put a tremendous burden and pressure on both of us.

Do you look to any celebrities for style inspiration?

I love a 'classy' look. Nicole Kidman always looks like pure class.

You're a well-known personality in LA - what kind of pressures does your level of fame bring? Are you comfortable with how your fame escalates year after year?

I've actually become more comfortable with it as it is now shown in over fifty countries – we are world known, not just in LA.

What is the most dramatic or memorable moment from the show?

Renewing my vows with Donn.

What's the most cherished item in your home?

My children and grandchild.
