Michelle Obama has said that if Justin Bieber was her son, she would "pull him close". Justin, 19, is making headlines for for all the wrong reasons at the moment, and now 'Mom-in-Chief' Michelle has given some advice to his parents.
"I would pull him close. You know, I don't know if it would be advice as much as action," Michelle said during an interview with Univision Radio.
"I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what's going on in his head, to figure out who's in his life, and who's not."
Michelle - mum to Sasha, 12, and 15-year-old Malia - added, "I found that to be the case with my kids. They just want you near, you know — they want that advice from a parent. They want to see you on a daily basis, because the thing is he's still a kid. He's still growing up. So I would pull him close."
The First Lady, 50, made her remarks about the Canadian singer in light of an ongoing petition to have him deported from the US.
So far, more than 250,000 people have signed the document, requiring an official acknowledgment from the Oval Office. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has said the response is forthcoming.
