Valentine's Day isn't a complete write-off for Justin Bieber, after he won't be attending his scheduled Miami court date where he is set to be arraigned. The 19-year-old pop star faces charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.
His case will be heard by Judge William Altfield of the Miami-Dade County Criminal Division on Friday, and prosecutors will formally file charges and a plea will be entered, though he will not be present. As lawyers are able to file his plea in writing, his physical presence was not required. Justin was taking part in what police termed an illegal street drag race when he was arrested last month in Miami Beach. The All That Matters singer was freed from custody after his bail was set at set at £1,500. He was reportedly driving a rented Lamborghini, and had been racing against a red Ferrari – which had R&B singer Khalil Sharieff behind the wheel.
Khalil was also arrested after reportedly being found to be under the influence of alcohol and illegal substances. If the case was playing on Justin's mind this Valentine's Day, he wasn't showing it on his Instagram account. The musician posted a picture of himself deep in concentration while staring at his computer. "still working," read the caption.
