February 14, 2014

Davina McCall triumphantly completed her gruelling Sports Relief challenge on Friday.

Amid the pouring rain, an emotional and exhausted Davina and her trainer Greg Whyte proudly stood on the banks of the River Thames, holding a Union Jack flag aloft.

The 46-year-old TV presenter crossed the finish line outside London's Tate Modern at 4.10 pm and was greeted by her husband Matthew Robertson and their three children Holly, Chester and Tilly.

"I can't believe it was me," said Davina, as the details of her epic physical challenge were read out to the waiting crowd. "Thank you to everybody who has donated - that is why I did it - the team that got me here, they carried me through the threshold.

"My kids and my husband were amazing," she added. "I have got to stop crying!"

"She's done it!" Tweeted Sports Relief's official account. "Edinburgh to London in seven days, Incredible #Davina."

"Eyes on the prize, the hot chocolate, bed and your family group hug at end!""She's finished #awesome," posted Kirstie Allsopp, "After all that @thisisDavina hangs around freezing & wet to spread the word."

"Huge congrats to @ThisisDavina on her inspiring, Herculean achievement," added Ben Fogle.

Davina took on the mammoth challenge of travelling 500 miles under her own steam, running, swimming and cycling from Edinburgh to London.

Throughout the week she kept her fans updated on her progress and those who helped her along the way.

Davina, who dramatically collapsed due to suspected hypothermia while swimming across Lake Windemere, met with Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc on Thursday and DJs Scott Mills and Chris Moyles on Friday.
