Juno actress Ellen Page has come out as gay.SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEOSpeaking at a Las Vegas conference on Friday, 2007 Oscar nominee Ellen said that she was finally coming out after years of feeling too afraid to reveal her sexuality. "I'm here today because I am gay and maybe I can make a difference," 26-year-old Ellen told the audience, to rapturous applause. 

"I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility," she added. "I also do it selfishly, because I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission.""I suffered for years because I was scared to be out," said an emotional Ellen. "My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain. "Ellen's announcement was met with scores of positive messages on Twitter. "Mad mad mad mad mad mad crazy love and praise for @EllenPage today," posted actress Anna Kendrick. "Congrats to you, you light, talent, and beauty.""Congrats my friend ;) @EllenPage," added fellow silver screen star Evan Rachel Wood
