TOWIE star Sam Faiers has been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. The 23-year-old reality star underwent a series of tests after suffering with a mystery illness for the past six weeks, and has been told she is suffering with the long-term inflammatory bowel disease.Her spokesperson has confirmed the news, and on Thursday Sam took to Twitter to thank her fans for "all your kind messages".Crohn's Disease can lead to abdominal pain, ulcers and weight loss, and it's thought that petite Sam will now need to dramatically alter her diet — including adhering to a liquid-only diet for six weeks to reset her bowel.

"It's Sam's diet that will be most affected by the diagnosis," a source told the Daily Mirror. "She is suffering from lots of ulcers, so she needs to give them time to heal before she looks at the long-term effects of the diagnosis. "At the moment, she is just trying to cope with the excruciating stomach cramps. That has been the most difficult thing. Now, she is working with her gastroenterologist to see if she can work around her illness. "Sam won't let things hold her back, she dealing with it in the best way she can. She knows she can't change anything, but she can educate herself about the disease."

Sam, who was wearing a T-shirt with the slogan 'Choose Life', locked arms with her supportive sibling, who recently announced that she was engaged to long-term boyfriend Greg Shepherd.On Tuesday, the sisters were in high spirits as they went shopping for baby bits of Billie's child. Sam took to her Instagram account to share a picture of the duo with the caption, "Successful baby shop today."
