Charlotte Dawson found dead: stars pay tribute to the Australia's Next Top Model judge

Charlotte Dawson has been found dead in her Sydney apartment. According to police the former model and Australia's Next Top Model judge was found at her home in Woolloomooloo around 11am on Saturday and that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.Reports suggest that Charlotte, 47, who had a history of depression, took her own life and was said by friends to have been "in terrible shape" in the days before her death.

Tributes have flooded in for the New Zealand-born star, who was married to Australian Olympic swimmer Scott Miller from 1999 to 2000. "Charley D... Just don't understand,"  tweeted Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, who is said to have broken down in tears upon hearing of his neighbour and long-time friend's death. "There's not enough kind souls as it is. Rest in peace.""#RIPCharlotteDawson #StopBullying ?" posted Dannii Minogue, while Rachel Hunter tweeted "RIP Charlotte Dawson, I'm devastated such an amazing woman & kind soul. Heartbreaking!" John Key, New Zealand's Prime Minister, also paid tribute to Charlotte, saying that he was “shocked” and “saddened” to hear of her tragic passing.

Charlotte, who was a fashion editor for  Women's Day and style editor at New Idea, made headlines in 2012 when she was admitted to St Vincent’s Hospital after become the victim of bullying by Twitter trolls. At the time it was reported that Charlotte had attempted to take her own life and afterwards became a passionate campaigner for anti-bullying charities.
