Jerry Hall teams up with Cancer Research UK for Give Up Clothes For Good campaign

February 26, 2014

After previously shedding her clothes in the name of art and good causes, Jerry Hall is now encouraging us all to Give Up Clothes For Good. The 57-year-old Texan – who, in addition to stripping off on stage in The Graduate and Calendar Girls, has posed nude for Playboy and artist Lucian Freud and, with elder daughter Lizzie Jagger for a 2012 campaign against overfishing – has teamed up with Cancer Research UK and discount retailer TK Maxx. The project calls on the country not to go naked, but to clear out its wardrobes to help beat children’s cancers.“More children than ever are now surviving cancer thanks to the work of Cancer Research UK,” Jerry told HELLO! magazine. “But it is still the leading cause of deaths in youngsters. Please support Give Up Clothes for Good and drop off a bag of clothing at your local TK Maxx.”

Looking as good as ever, Jerry has posed for a series of campaign images (see image above) shot by Jason Bell, the man behind Prince George’s christening pictures and a long-time supporter of Give Up Clothes for Good. Jason’s photos are notable for another reason – they’ll be the last images for a while of Jerry’s trademark long blonde mane. On a photoshoot with haircare brand L’Oreal Professionnel, she took the sudden decision to have her hair cut to her shoulders.

Obviously happy with her new look, Jerry instantly posted a picture of it on Twitter with the caption, “#Surprise!! I have cut off my long locks and got the short ‘lob’ haircut. Thanks to the @lorealproteam!”
