Emma Watson has revealed how she prepared for her appearance at the Oscars. The Harry Potter star, who admitted to E! that she was "a little nervous" about taking to the stage to present one the awards' coveted statuettes, said that her secret was choosing footwear she could rely on throughout the night.
"I tried to wear shoes that weren't too crazy," said Emma. "So that I wouldn't worry that much about tripping.""I always score my shoes and I put insoles in them because it's a long event," she added. "They can really hurt by the end of the night."
For cinema's most star-studded evening Emma chose a stunning floor-length gown by Vera Wang, which she accessorised with a metallic clutch bag, numerous rings and deep red lipstick.Despite her worldwide fame, 23-year-old Emma was starstruck when she arrived on the red carpet at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. "I nearly just died, I just met Julia Roberts," gushed Emma. "She was kind of the reason that I wanted to act, she was the first actress that I really fell in love with, I got a little bit emotional."
In spite of her nerves and excitement, Emma appeared calm and collected as she joined Don Jon star Joseph Gordon-Levitt to present the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects to the team behind Gravity. Shortly after their appearance, Joseph took to Facebook to post a photo of himself and Emma captioned "Me and Emma #Oscars."
During her interview with E!, Emma also spoke about her forthcoming film, biblical epic Noah."There's a lot of action but thankfully I didn't get hurt," said Emma, who stars alongside Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins in the movie. "I was really just wet a lot, rained on a lot.""My character doesn't do that many stunts," she added. "It's the boys that do that stuff, so I just kind of watched the boys get hurt."
