It was a busy weekend for Taylor Swift as she partied with Lena Dunham and was spotted hanging out with her new best friend Lorde.
But no wonder the 24-year-old country star was in good spirits, as Billboard have placed her at the top of their annual Money Makers rich list.
The success of her fourth album Red and her popularity with downloads helped her to top the list which also featured Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé.
But it was her juggernaut Red tour that finished last month in the UK that pushed her over the top, bringing in over $30 million alone.
Taylor has been working hard in 2014, taking time out of her tour to perform at the Grammys and share the catwalk at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, as well as finding time for friends including Karlie Kloss, Lorde and Cara Delevingne.
She has been making the most of her down time in between visits to the studio as she prepares for her fifth album, posting Instagram pictures of a California road trip with Karlie, and showing off her newly shorn hair, which she cut straight after her final night at the 02 Arena in February.
Lorde had a busier weekend, shooting down rumours of a relationship with Taylor as she spoke to Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie Show.
Shock jock Kyle tried his best to get a rise out of Lorde by asking, "I see your guys' pictures everywhere. Are you guys, like, uh, are you together now?
"He then followed it up with a reference to Oscars host Ellen Degeneres, who is married to Portia de Rossi, asking, "Not together as in lesbians…
I'm not talking about 'Ellen together.' I'm talking about, like, you guys are friendly, right?"
The 17-year-old New Zealand singer then hit back in defence of same-sex couples, replying, "What do you mean you're not talking about 'Ellen together?' Is there something wrong with lesbians? Is that what you're trying to say?
"The outspoken star then shut the DJ down with: "Don't ever try it. It's not working."
