Kate Winslet today accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the 2,520th to be presented.The British Oscar winner who jetted into Los Angeles earlier this morning was presented the award by Titanic director James Cameron and co-star Kathy Bates, and her Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley.
Wearing a form-fitting black dress and her hair pinned back with loose waves, Kate wowed the crowds who had gathered outside the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard to see the unveiling.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, had previously said: “"We are so happy that Kate Winslet will be here on our famous Boulevard of dreams receiving her well-deserved star.
"We've seen Kate shine in her roles and fans around the world have been anxiously waiting for this special day to come.
"Kate joins a host of world famous actors, musicians and TV stars such as Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, and John Lennon.
Other recent actors who have been added to the Walk of Fame include Julianne Moore and Glee’s Jane Lynch.
The five time Oscar nominated actress finally won on her sixth nomination in 2009 for The Reader. The actress also has two BAFTA awards, two Golden Globes, an Emmy award and a Grammy.
The 38-year-old only needs to win a Tony award to complete the elusive and highly regarded EGOT, where a person wins all four of the major American entertainment awards.
Kate gave birth to her third child, Bear, last December. It was her first child with Ned Rocknroll, whom she married in earlier in the year.
She has two other children from her previous marriage, and Kate recently insisted that she was in no rush to lose any of the baby weight she may have gained. "Having just had a baby, I’m not going to be thinking about my arse," she said.
