Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have expressed their deep gratitude after announcing they were splitting up on Wednesday.
The actress posted a chicken recipe on her GOOP blog Friday morning, in recognition of Mother’s Day this weekend in the UK, and mention she and her British estranged spouse were thankful for how the public has handled the news so far.

The American star left a little note at the end of her message about female heads of households in history and shared a recipe for using meat as leftovers at the same time in the article titled ‘One bird. Three Meals’.“Our moms were raised by depression-era ladies who used a single tea bag for two cups of tea and never met a leftover they didn’t eat,” she penned. “This issue of three delicious chicken recipes is in honour of our grandmothers, who taught us the good old-fashioned art of not wasting a scrap. Love, g.”

Gwyneth then added in a line lower down that could easily have been missed by regular readers of her blog and newsletter: “P.S. CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many.
”This week her father-in-law shared that he is proud of his son for the way he has handled his split, but at the same time feel sorry for their children. The 72-year-old admitted it is difficult for any youngsters to experience a split between their parents. However he is glad the musician and his actress wife are remaining friends.
"It is sad because there are our two grandchildren. But it is all very amicable between them,” he told the Daily Mirror newspaper about granddaughter Apple and grandson Moses.
After more than 10 years married Chris and Gwyneth decided to call it quits, confessing they had tried for a year to make it work on her GOOP website.
