Pharrell first rose to fame as a member of N.E.R.D when their hit track She Wants To Move was released, however he had previously produced songs for superstars such as Britney Spears (I’m A Slave 4 U), Kelis and Justin Timberlake’s solo career.In the early months of 2013, Pharrell featured on two of the year’s biggest selling songs.

He first collaborated with French house music act Daft Punk for the disco funk track Get Lucky.

Selling over 7 million copies in 5 months, Pharrell also wrote the track along with Chic founder, Nile Rodgers.

Pharrell later teamed up with Canadian pop singer Robin Thicke on the controversial song Blurred Lines, which the pair wrote and produced.

Later in 2013 he worked again with Universal Pictures on the sequel Despicable Me 2. His song Happy reached number one four different times in the UK making him only the third ever artist to do so, and also the third artist ever to have three singles selling over 1 million copies in under a year.

The track was also nominated for an Academy Award.In 2014 Pharrell was named as thenew judge on the US version of The Voice.
