Madonna is just like any other proud parent when it comes to her daughter Lourdes. The superstar singer posted a photo of her 17-year-old on the final night of her school production of A Flea in her Ear on her Twitter page on Sunday evening.

In the picture, Lourdes can be seen posing in her costume, wearing a maid's white apron and bright red lipstick as she stares down the camera. Her dark hair was been pulled into an up do, and she is making a peace sign.

"Lola as a French Maid in "A Flea in her Ear"...I'm so proud"

Mum Madonna captioned the snapshot, "Lola as a French Maid in 'A Flea in her Ear'! Last show tonight at La Guardia! Amazing talent! Amazing production! I’m so proud! #rebelheart #artforfreedom.

"Lourdes is a pupil at Manhattan’s prestigious LaGuardia Performing Arts School. Just a few weeks ago she starred as Betty Rizzo in a production of Grease , watched proudly by her mum and younger siblings David and Mercy in the audience.

A few weeks ago Madonna was seen in the audience as Lourdes performed in the musical Grease

One onlooker said of her performance, "(She was) really good. She is a great singer, dancer and actress and seems completely comfortable on the stage. She also seemed like she was having a lot of fun with the part. "Lourdes will celebrate her 18th birthday in October, and is already thinking about her future plans. She visited the University of Michigan with her mum in November with a view to studying there.

It seems Lourdes has always had an interest in performing from a young age

Madonna attended the same university before moving to New York to become a pop star, and is keen for Lourdes to follow in her footsteps.

"I want my daughter to go there," she said in an interview before her Super Bowl halftime performance in 2012. "I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place."
