Gavin Rossdale and his daughter Daisy Lowe enjoyed a rare lunch together on Wednesday.

The pair were seen deep in conversation during a low-key catch up at Cafe Med in West Hollywood, just two days after Daisy tweeted an image of a broken heart following the death of her close friend Peaches Geldof.

Gavin, 48, was no doubt consoling 25-year-old Daisy, who had already left London for the US at the time of her long-time friend Peaches' tragic death.

The father and daughter duo were seen deep in conversation, with Gavin listening intently and offering words of advice.

Despite her upset, London-based model Daisy would have been comforted to hear Gavin's news about her baby half-brother Apollo, who is now two-months old.

Bush singer Gavin's wife Gwen Stefani gave birth to the couple's third son Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale on 28 February in a hospital near the couple's LA home.

Since it was confirmed in 2004 that Gavin was Daisy's father, the pair have worked hard to maintain a relationship.

Peaches Geldof death: celebrities share shock and sadness

Despite living on opposite side of the Atlantic, they are keen to spend quality time with each other and were last seen together on a walk around London's Primrose Hill in December 2013.

Daisy was 14-years-old when she discovered that she didn't share a blood type with either her mother Pearl Lowe or Bronner Lowe, who she believed to be her father.

The discovery prompted a DNA test, and although Gavin initially refused to be involved he was later proved to be Daisy's biological father.

The paternity revelation meant Daisy is now a half-sister to Gavin and Gwen's three sons Kingston, seven, Zuma, five, and two-month-old Apollo.
