Peaches Geldof's body released as family come together to make funeral preparations

April 10, 2014

Peaches Geldof's body has been released to her family so they can begin to make preparations for her funeral.

On Thursday a spokesman for North West Kent coroner Roger Hatch stated: "We can confirm that the body has been released to the family for funeral arrangements to be made."  The coroner's statement comes a day after a post-mortem on Peaches' body proved inconclusive, meaning the 25-year-old's relatives are now waiting on the results of toxicology tests, which will be released in two to three weeks, to offer some explanation.

Peaches' family are now beginning to organise her memorial which is expected to be held at the same church where her mother Paula Yates' funeral took place and where she married musician Thomas Cohen.

The church of St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence in Davington holds particular significance for the Geldof family.

Following their Las Vegas nuptials Bob and Paula had their marriage blessed at the church in 1986, 14 years before Paula was laid to rest there in 2000.

In 2012 Peaches and Tom chose the picturesque chapel as the venue for their wedding, before celebrating their union at Davington Priory, Sir Bob's nearby country home.
