Peaches Geldof's Wedding: HELLO! In History

April 10, 2014

In September 2012 Peaches Geldof and husband Thomas Cohen married in what HELLO! called a fairytale ceremony, and now, less than two years later tragedy has struck the family as Peaches passed away earlier this week.

Looking back at Peaches and Thomas’s wedding, the intensity of the couple’s love for each other is clear, and makes Peaches’ tragic death even more heart-breaking.

Cheered on by their friends and family, the pair married in the same church in Kent where Peaches’ parents married 26 years earlier, and where mother Paula Yates’ 2000 funeral was held.

The bride wore a stunning Alberta Ferreti lace gown with a crown of garlands, as their new baby, Astala and puppy Parper played important roles in the service.Speaking to HELLO! in a world exclusive, Thomas said of his wife Peaches on their wedding day: "From our very first date, I knew there was no-one but Peaches who I wanted to spend the rest of my time with."

He added: "When I’m not with her, I just miss her so much and I know that feeling won’t ever go away."

Sir Bob Geldof, Peaches’ father, met her on the lawn of the church, and before walking her down the aisle softly told her: "You look amazing."

Peaches was joined by her three sisters, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Lily as bridesmaids, as well as Thomas’s sister Holly Cohen and friend Kirsty Williams.

Peaches’ matron-of-honour was her "rock", Lily Gutierrez, who Peaches has known since they were young girls.

Later, after the ceremony, Thomas said: "It was so overwhelming, seeing her standing there looking just so incredible. We hadn’t seen each other for hours and I’d missed her so much. I couldn’t stop myself from getting tearful." Added Peaches: "I’ve married the most wonderful man who I know loves me beyond anything, through all my faults." Before heading off for a magical night of celebration and joy, the pair told HELLO! "It’s been the most amazing day."
