Paul Walker's brothers have been pictured on the set of Fast & Furious 7 as the pair stand in for the late actor, who died suddenly in a car crash last November. Cody, 25, and older brother Caleb, 36, were captured in the background of a video by American rapper and actor Ludacris also featuring Tyrese Gibson in Dubai on Saturday. The pair will stand in for Paul to complete the seventh movie in the blockbuster franchise, Fast & Furious, after the actor's tragic death on 30 November.
There had been uncertainty surrounding the future of the film – it was half way through filming when Paul was killed – until it was announced on Facebook that Paul's two brothers would be filling in for him in order to complete some of his unfinished scenes. A statement released on the film's Facebook page said: "The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. "Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film."
It goes on to state that after "coming together" to grieve the loss, it was decided by everyone involved that 'the only choice was to continue' filming, adding: 'We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too."
While the 40-year-old had already completed "his dramatic scenes and most of his action" - which the producers cite as being "among the strongest work of his career" – his brothers have been brought in to "fill in small gaps left in production".
"We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too." The eagerly-anticipated Fast & Furious 7 is set to hit cinemas on April 10 next year.
