Peaches Geldof's friends and family gathered to pay their last respects at her funeral on Easter Monday. Her grief-stricken father Sir Bob Geldof was to lead the tributes to his late daughter. It is also thought that the columnist's sister Pixie said a few words at the memorial.
Mariella Frostrup, Nick Grimshaw, Sarah, Duchess of York, supermodel Kate Moss and TV presenter Jools Holland were among those who attended the service at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence church in the village of Davington, near Faversham in Kent. Also in attendance were Jo Wood, Sting's wife Trudie Styler, former Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman and actress Jaime Winston, who held a single red rose.
TV presenter Nick, who was extremely close to both the two Geldof girls, went into the service by a side door, his head bowed in sorrow, sunglasses shielding his eyes. Sarah, Duchess of York arrived by herself in a chauffeured Bentley. Accompanied by her husband Jason McCue, Mariella, also a presenter, carried a bunch of pink flowers. More bouquets had been tied to the railings outside - a sign of the affection for the family whose ties to the local community go back many years.
The coffin had been decorated with an image of Peaches with her young family
Heartbreakingly this is the same church where Peaches' mother Paula Yates was laid to rest 12 years ago. The 25-year-old's wedding to Thomas Cohen also took place there two years ago.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine at the nuptials in 2012, Peaches said: "I feel her presence all the time but especially today. Mum loved family celebrations and she would adore Tom and the fact that we've married here. "I know she is watching over me and feeling so happy for us."
Peaches was found at her home aged just 25
In a touching tribute at Monday's memorial, her coffin had been decorated with a painting of the young couple with their baby sons Astala and Phaedra, as well as the family pets. As the much-loved celebrity's loved ones said their farewells the news came that her widower Tom, plans to sell the family home. He is thought to be too devastated to continue living there with their children.
