David Beckham is in China to launch a new car but he caused a worldwide stir on Facebook when he posted a topless selfie.
"Having a great time in Macau at Venetian Macao 澳門威尼斯人", he posted to his account as he stood in front of the resort’s swimming pool and a stone statue of a lion.
The snap gained 300,000 likes in an hour and within five hours over half a million people had liked it.

It came after the ex-footballer showed off his skills live on Chinese television show,Role Model's Voice, where inspirational role models talk in front of a selection of young people.
The 38-year-old is staying in Macao, which is the second administrative region of China after Hong King.
The resort re-posted David’s post adding: "Our favourite #selfie! Welcome back David Beckham!"David flew to China the day after he celebrated wife Victoria Beckham's 40th birthday with a trip to the Grand Canyon.
Victoria posted several pictures throughout the day but David also added one to his Facebook account, another selfie in front of the iconic location.

"Here is a pic from my recent break in Utah. I had a great time with Victoria", he captioned it.
Later that day the family took Victoria for a meal in Los Angeles at Nobu Malibu, where the menu had a snap of a young Victoria on the front with family pictures on the inside.
