Two months have gone by since Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow announced their "conscious uncoupling" — and already the Coldplay frontman is being linked to a new woman. Last week, Chris, 37, was spotted enjoying an evening out with model and TV presenter Alexa Chung, 30, at Elsa bar in New York.

However a spokesperson for the musician has denied the pair are seeing each other romantically, telling the Metro newspaper: "They are definitely not dating".Previous reports claimed they were hanging out together in a dark corner of the bar and were in good spirits. A witness who met the pair said Chris wasn't worried about being recognised, but Alexa seemed more reserved. The sighting sent the rumour mill into overdrive, with numerous reports romantically linking the pair. It's not the first time the duo have been seen together; they struck up a friendship at Glastonbury Festival last year. At the time Chris was still happily married to Gwyneth, and it seems the Big Apple evening out was simply a case of two friends catching up.

The role marks Gwyneth's first project since announcing her split from Chris; she most recently worked on the drama Mortdecai, alongside Johnny Depp and Olivia Munn, which hits cinemas in 2015.In an interview with E! News back in March, the actress explained why she has a "rule about one movie a year"."I think it's different when you have an office job," she said. "When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mum is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set."
