Emily Blunt has revealed that she and her Edge of Tomorrow co-star Tom Cruise celebrated Matt Damon's birthday with an alternative night out together in London.
Speaking during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Emily told the chat show host how she was tasked with explaining to Tom that the group had chosen to go to a risqué club, rather than a restaurant.
The mum-of-one preceded her story by clarifying the venue they'd picked for the birthday celebration.
"I don't know if you've heard of this club called The Box?" she asked Jimmy. "It's kind of a burlesque club. There's weird things that go on and make you cringe.
"He [Tom] thought it was going to be a nice, civilized dinner," she explained. "So I emailed him and was like, 'Tom, change of plan. We're now gonna go to this club called The Box. Just wanted you to know, you may not be comfortable with this."
The 31-year-old said that Tom emailed back and said, "Jesus Christ!" But added he was happy to join the party one on condition — "Just don't let me walk out of there alone!"
During the interview, Emily also spoke about she "broke" Tom's positive spirit while they were filming science fiction action film Edge of Tomorrow.
"We were boiling," said Emily. "And we were in these huge suits and there was no space... and we're hanging in these harnesses with the full weight of the 85-pound suit and your body weight on your groin, which is not fun."
"We were just hanging there in between takes just waiting for them to get ready and re-light, and I look at Tom and I can just see that insatiable positivity starting to unravel, and I just look at him and he's pouring with sweat.
"And I'm just hanging there and I say, 'This really sucks.' And he looked at me and he went, 'It's a challenge.' I said, 'Tom, it sucks!' And he went, 'Fine! It sucks!' I broke him. I broke his spirit."
