In the crazy world of Hollywood, Kate Hudson remains grounded. She credits her mum Goldie Hawn with providing a strong example of how to live a normal life. "My mum was a trailblazer," Kate, 35, told InStyle. "She was one of the first women after Katharine Hepburn to produce her own films.

Kate Hudson describes her mum Goldie Hawn as a "trailblazer"

"She had this extremely feminine public image but behind the scenes there was a real, persevering strength – wanting to get things done, fighting for what she believed in, and being successful with it." Years later, Kate believes not much has changed for women in cinema. "Do when still have a more difficult time in the industry? In terms of what they get paid and getting movies made, that's just a factual yes. Nobody can debate it."

Another aspect of Hollywood Kate would love to change is the fickleness. "The negativity is just so vast," she said. "Will everybody stop being so damned judgemental? If someone wants to go get butt implants, then sure, go get butt implants."The real question is, how do they treat the person next to them? Are they a-holes or are they awesome?" As a leading lady, Kate has dated a number of celebrities in the past – including Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez, both of who have been the subject of doping scandals.

"I was as shocked as anyone," she told the magazine. "But I personally think that you make the choices you make and you should reap the consequences. People have a right to (feel betrayed)."Lance and Alex are phenomenal athletes who have made some bad choices and let a lot of people down. It's a decision they made for themselves and they've got to loathe it."
