Celine Dion’s husband, René Angélil, has stepped down as her manager following his most recent bout of cancer.
Their longtime friend and associate, Aldo Giampaolo, will take on the new role as CEO of Feeling Productions, the company in charge of the singer's career, while René will remain with the production company as chairman of the board.
In a statement, René said that he had appointed his "longtime close friend" with "great pleasure and the utmost confidence."

He added: "Considering our long-standing friendship, our mutual respect and our past collaborations, this was a logical step for all of us."
Though no official reason was given for the change, it is suspected that René, 72, may be taking time off to spend more time with his family following bouts of ill health.
He had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat just before Christmas 2013, and was previously diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999, which prompted Celine, 46, to take time off from her career as her husband recovered.

The Canadian songstress has been married to her manager beau for almost two decades. The couple, who share a 26-year age gap, went on their first date when Celine was 19 and René was 45.
The couple got engaged in 1991 and were married in 1994, in a lavish ceremony at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec.
They have three children, 13-year-old René-Charles and twin boys Nelson and Eddy, who were born in 2011, following a sixth attempt at IVF.
