Exclusive: Viscountess and Viscount Weymouth reveal their baby joy

June 23, 2014

In an exclusive interview and photoshoot with HELLO! magazine, Viscountess and Viscount Weymouth have announced that they are expecting their first child in November. The baby, a future heir, will be the first at Longleat in 40 years. Food blogger and aspiring TV presenter Emma, 28, who married her husband Ceawlin Thynn, the son of the 7th Marquess of Bath and heir to the estate, last June, found out about the news early on in the pregnancy.

"We were both really happy," says Emma, and her husband is, "very excited". “I rang the doctor and had a scan, then a blood test. It was tiny – not even a centimetre – and looked like a little frog. I was really excited, but also numb as you don't want to get your hopes up too soon. "The baby will be born at the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, where Emma was born, she tells HELLO! She hopes the baby will further mend the widely documented rift between Lord Bath and the couple.

The relationship is slowly healing and Emma believes the baby will "add strength" to the family. "Everybody loves babies. And this will help because it will be a new chapter, the next generation, and you can't ignore that," she says. "Being married is one thing, but having a baby makes it real." In the interview, Emma acknowledges that inheriting the Longleat estate will be a big responsibility for the future Hon or Lady Thynn. "That's why it's so important to raise our child well and support them, because they're going to eventually run everything. The person due to be born in November has a pretty interesting life ahead."
