Katherine Heigl responds to reports that she is 'difficult' to work with

Katherine Heigl fielded some tricky questions during a recent Q&A for her new show, State of Affairs.The actress was asked outright about reports that she and her executive producer mother are "difficult" to work with.

Katherine Heigl has responded to reports she is 'difficult' to work with

Initially unsure how to respond, Katherine then told reporters, "I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. "She added, "I don't think my mother sees herself as being difficult. I think it's important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly, so if I've ever disappointed somebody, it was never intentional."

In State of Affairs, Katherine stars as CIA analyst Charlie Tucker, who is charged with giving the president (Alfre Woodard) her daily briefing on global security concerns.Both her and her mother Nancy work as executive producers on the show - and Katherine had a pithy response when asked what her mum brought to the table.  "She bakes us cookies!" she told reporters.

Nancy added, "(Katherine and I) work as a partnership. I am her mother for sure, so of course I have her best interests, but I'm really learning. But it's been fun and it's been interesting. I'm really new to it. "Katherine was also asked about a recent interview in which she said she had felt her career wasn't under her control. "I don't know if I said my career wasn't in my control," she responded. "I stopped challenging myself and I was making choices that I loved and was excited about. I love romantic comedies. I love film. I love watching them…

"But I stopped exercising different muscles of my ability and then in that moment, I felt I was sort of letting down my audience, wasn't challenging them either.
