Cheryl Cole has revealed that she wishes she could have kept her marriage secret for a little longer. '"I would have actually kept it that way [secret] but unfortunately it was leaked,' she told Radio 1 on Thursday. "But I'm glad it's out there", she added.
Speaking on the afternoon show, Cheryl also revealed that she did not have a traditional hen do and that she was very "happy".
The X Factor judge revealed she had married her partner of three months Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini earlier in July. The 31-year-old announced the surprise news by posting a picture of her engagement and wedding ring on Twitter.
"I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14..," read the text accompanying the picture.
Cheryl and Jean-Bernard were spotted on Wednesday looking loved-up as they attended the launch of Cheryl's new fragrance, Storm Flower. The loved-up newlyweds cuddled up in a private area where they were spotted deep in conversation.
The handsome restaurateur is Cheryl Cole's first serious romance since splitting from backing dancer Tre Holloway last summer. Jean-Bernard runs pop-up restaurant and celeb hangout Cosy Box in Cannes, and it is thought this is where the hot new couple first met. At the end of May, they made their first British public appearance together at the trendy Chiltern Firehouse in London.
The pair married in an intimate private ceremony on the beach in Mustique with just four guests so naturally Cheryl was in the mood to celebrate her new marital status when she was back with friends and family in London.
The Crazy Stupid Lovesinger and her new man looked the image of newly-wedded bliss as they arrived at The Library club in St Martin's Lane. The new Mr and Mrs Fernandez-Versini were joined by a number of high profile names at their party, including Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.
