Beloved star Robin Williams recorded touching video for terminally ill cancer sufferer months before taking his own life

Robin Williams is known for having dedicated a lifetime to making others feel better, whether it was through stand-up comedy on stage, performing on the big screen, or visiting those who were unwell in hospital.And just months before he sadly took his own life, the comedy genius and Oscar-winning actor took time out to make terminally ill Vivian Waller's wish come true, by recording a touching personal message just for her. "Hi Vivian . . . it's Robin Williams here saying, 'Hey girl, what's going on down there in New Zealand?'", Robin says in the video, moving between an American and Kiwi accent.

"I'm sending all my love to you . . . knock this off your bucket list." In true form, the talented actor then broke into brief song, "channelling Matthew McConaughey" before signing off with — "much love to you, baby". The heart-warming message came after New Zealander Vivian, 21, was diagnosed in January with lung, bowel and liver cancer and named Robin as someone she wanted to meet on a bucket list of things she wanted to do before she died. She then became too ill to travel to America.

When one of her friends contacted the star, who died aged 63 last week, he happily obliged in recording the short video clip which he then emailed to the family a few months ago.Vivian's husband, Jack, whom she married in February after the funds were raised in just ten days, says she was thrilled beyond belief with the message.He told stuff.co.nz that he decided to open up about Robin's message because "we love him, we want to show people how awesome a person he was".

He added of his wife: "We are just enjoying the time we have together, we take things a day at a time."Robin was found dead at his California home last week. A preliminary investigation has concluded that the beloved comedian died of suicide by asphyxiation.
