Courteney Cox completes Ice Bucket Challenge - with a little help from Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid

August 27, 2014

Courteney Cox has stepped up to the plate and completed the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The actress - nominated by her best friend Jennifer Aniston - was helped by Ed Sheeran and her fiancé Johnny McDaid as she was drenched in freezing cold water this week, adding her name to the list of stars supporting the viral campaign.

In a video shared on Courteney's Twitter page, she can be seen sitting with her feet in the swimming pool with Ed stood just behind her.

"Alright Jennifer Aniston. I accept your ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Let's make some donations, let's find a cure," the 50-year-old star says, before nominating her fiancé Johnny, his Snow Patrol bandmate Gary Lightbody and actress Isla Fisher.

Ed, 23, then pours icy water onto the actress, before Johnny and a friend douse her again with a second bigger bucket.

Shocked Courteney stands up and chases after her laughing fiancé as he escapes around the side of the pool.

To date, the Ice Bucket Challenge has helped raise more than $88.5million in donations – compared to the $2.6million raised for the ALS Association in the same time frame last year.
