Madonna's children are ready to return to school. This week, the singer shared an adorable photo of her eldest son Rocco taking his younger siblings, David and Mercy back for their first day of lessons. "Dis how we do!" Madonna, 56, wrote. "Spicoli takes his little bro and sis to the Lycee! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ #proud."

In the photo, 14-year-old Rocco – the singer's son with ex-husband Guy Ritchie – looks incredibly grown up as he stands with his arms around Mercy and David. The pair, both eight, look happy at the prospect of the start of term – if their thumbs up-pose is anything to go by. Rocco's nickname – Spicoli – has been inspired by Sean Penn's character in the film Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Just recently Madonna shared a photo of the teen imitating her ex in the 1982 movie.

Madonna attended the same institution back in the Seventies, before leaving for New York to pursue her music career. Last week, the singer and her children flew back to New York after a summer break in Europe. While away, Madonna celebrated her birthday with a lavish party in Cannes, attended by the likes of Kate Moss, and was later seen soaking up the sun and partying in Ibiza.
