George Clooney's spokesperson clears up Amal Alamuddin pregnancy rumours

George Clooney's representative has confirmed that his fiancée Amal Alamuddin is not pregnant. The claims emerged when Amal was pictured in a maxi dress and appeared to be sporting what commentators deemed to be a tiny baby bump from certain angles. The British lawyer was said to be "about three months along".

Giving Little concern to rumours about his bride-to-be, George has instead been focusing on making last-minute preparations for the couple's Lake Como wedding, which will take place in late September. The Gravity star, 53, has been very hands-on with the planning and has been dedicated to the whole process throughout.

Apart from preparing for his "small and intimate" wedding, George has also announced that he will be stepping back behind the camera to direct a new film based on the phone-hacking scandal at News International. The charming star will bring an adaptation of the book Hack Attack by journalist Nick Davies to the big screen, with shooting scheduled to begin next year. "This has all the elements – lying, corruption, blackmail – at the highest levels of government by the biggest newspaper in London," George said in a statement. "And the fact that it's true is the best part. Nick is a brave and stubborn reporter and we consider it an honour to put his book to film."

George made his directorial debut in 2002 with biographical spy film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He has since directed blockbusters including The Ides of March and The Monuments Men, of which he starred in both. In July, Hollywood's leading man and his soon-to-be wife posted their official wedding banns at Chelsea Town Hall in London. The couple are said to be planning a main ceremony in George's lakeside home of Villa Oleandra and will celebrate again with another event in the English capital.
