"I want to thank all of you," George, 53, can be seen saying, as he accepts the Andrea Bocelli Humanitarian Award on stage at the Palazzo Vecchio. "Because for the last dozen years or so, you've made me an honorary citizen." The star, who famously owns a property, Villa Oleandra, on the shores of Lake Como, continued, "I have to tell you, I met my bride-to-be in Italy, and I will be married in Italy, soon, in a couple of weeks… In Venice, of all places.
"In closing, I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much. And I can't wait to be your husband." George and Amal, 36, will tie the knot this month – what’s less certain is the location of their nuptials. Some reports had suggested the wedding would take place at George's Lake Como villa, others that the couple will wed in Venice – as the Hollywood star seems to suggest in his speech.
