Neil Young and Daryl Hannah caused a stir this week when they were spotted cuddling up and kissing after a lunch date in Westlake, California – especially since it was only announced last month that Neil and his wife Pegi were splitting after 36 years together. But it seems that the rocker’s new romance, isn't all that new.
A source has confirmed to People that Neil, 68, and actress Daryl, 53, have been "dating for months", adding that the musician's marriage had been recently troubled.
"They've taken no effort to even hide it," the insider said. "He recorded a new album a few weeks ago and she was on Skype the entire time, giving him feedback on every take.
He even told people in the studio she was his 'girlfriend'."The source also said that "the fans have known about this for months", since the couple have attended protest rallies together for some time now.
Neil and his wife Pegi filed divorce papers in their hometown of San Mateo, California on 29 July.Pegi, 61, was not only a frequent musical collaborator with her husband, she was also the inspiration for many of his love songs, including Unknown Legend and Once An Angel.
