As Scotland prepares to vote in the independence referendum, celebrities and sports stars have tweeted their support for both sides of the campaign. Comedian Russell Brand, known for his love of revolution, tweeted: "I've never voted but if I was Scottish I'd vote yes." while, JK Rowling, author of the worldwide smash hit Harry Potter series revealed: "Big day in Scotland tomorrow #indyref. "My head says no and my heart shouts it - but whatever happens, I hope we're all friends by Saturday."
American Presiden Barack Obama also tweeted from the official White House Twitter account, proving that the referendum was being closely watched all over the globe."

I hope it remains strong, robust and united. -bo", he told his millions of followers.Former footballer David Beckham revealed his support for the Better Together campaign: "We want to let you know how very much we value our relationship and friendship."
The ex-England captain told Scottish fans: "I took as much satisfaction in seeing Sir Chris Hoy or Andy Murray win gold as I did watching Jess Ennis and Mo Farah do the same in the Olympic Stadium. What unites us is much greater than what divides us. Let's stay together."
Britain's Got Talent singer Susan Boyle also admitted she was hoping Scotland would vote no, saying: "I don't feel reassured that the change will in any way make our already great country better. "We should not be wasting money on this change – we should be putting it into areas that need it the most."
Sir Paul McCartney, Sir David Attenborough, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Dame Judi Dench, Simon Cowell, and Professor Stephen Hawking all signed a letter in August urging Scotland to vote no and to remain as part of the union.
Acclaimed fashion designer Vivienne Westwood also tweeted her support for independance, while Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting, added: "No to independence!" Sounds a bit silly and weird, doesn't it? #YES it does."
