George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were still on a high as they finished off their weekend of lavish celebrations by signing the official wedding register. Still beaming and hand-in-hand the bride and groom arrived at the 13th-century Venice's Ca' Farsetti Palace on Monday.

Amal, an Oxford-educated lawyer, showed why she has become the fashion world's newest darling in an elegant white jumpsuit with an oversize hat that had echoes of Biana Jagger's white suit when she married Mick Jagger.It follows on from her many catwalk-worthy appearances in the last few days wearing a series of designer outfits by Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli and Dolce & Gabbana.

As he has done throughout the weekend, her actor husband waved happily acknowledging the cries of well-wishers. The couple partied into the early hours on Saturday evening after an intensely romantic candle lit ceremony in the seven-star Aman Grande Canal Hotel.
The happy couple are said to have recited vows they wrote themselves, with George holding Amal's hand as he promised to love and cherish her.
Their friend Walter Veltroni, an Italian writer and politician, who was Mayor of Rome officiated.
During the lavish reception that followed the bride's father Ramzi Alamudding is said to have told them: "Now it's time for grandchildren".
