"Heartbroken" Nicole Kidman has spoken for the first time since the unexpected death of her father, Dr Anthony Kidman.
The actress and her husband Keith Urban shared a joint message on Facebook to thank fans for the outpouring of support in the weeks following the 75-year-old's passing.
"We would just like to thank everyone for their love and prayers over these past couple of weeks," the message read.
"We are all heartbroken but knowing we are in the hearts and thoughts of others is so comforting. Sending love, Nic and Keith xx."
Nicole's beloved father, a respected clinical psychologist, passed away unexpectedly earlier this month during a visit to Singapore to see Nicole's sister Antonia, her husband Craig Marran and their six children. He was laid to rest during a moving service at St Francis Xavier Church on Sydney's North Shore, during which Nicole and Keith sang an acoustic version of Amazing Grace.
The Hollywood star also delivered a touching eulogy, telling the gathered congregation, "He was the father who was always going to be there. "She revealed how her father had helped her through her painful 2001 divorce from Tom Cruise, recalling him saying: "Nic, it's going to be ok. It isn't what it could've been, it isn't what it should have been, it is what it is."
