Brad Pitt is a happy man. One month into his marriage to Angelina Jolie, the Hollywood star has opened up about the importance of his family. "You learn to value the basic beauty of family, of watching your children grow and evolve. It's the most beautiful thing you can experience," Brad, 50, told Psychologies magazine.

Brad Pitt: 'I love being a father'

"I feel like the richest man alive since becoming a father."

Being a father has changed me on so many levels and made me more generous and alive. "I see my children as an essential part of my life, and it means so much to be able to educate them and help them make their way in the world as they grow up. I love being a father, and all the responsibilities that entails."

The actor also revealed he is a protective parent.

"I worry about them all the time," he said of children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

"There's the emotional bond and responsibility that sweeps over you when you have a family to look after. I care about them more than I care about myself, which I think is the real definition of love."

Brad and Angelina tied the knot on 23 August at the French estate Chateau Miraval – as featured in HELLO!. Unsurprisingly, their children played an integral part in the wedding.

Bride Angelina wore an Atelier Versace gown and a full-length veil, which had both been decorated with a number of her children's drawings. The beautiful actress was also walked down the aisle by her eldest sons Maddox and Pax, while Zahara and Vivienne threw petals gathered from the garden. Shiloh and Knox acted as the ring bearers.

Speaking to HELLO!, Angelina explained, "I wanted the kids to be a part of everything including the dress because that's our family; that represents the way we live our life together."
