When asked what his favourite part of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding was last month, A-lister guest Bill Murray had a romantic answer. The actor and comedian, who starred with George in The Monuments Men, didn't speak about the beautiful venue, the lavish reception or the full four days of celebrations in the floating city of Venice. "The best part of being at George and Amal's wedding was those two people finding each other," Bill, 64, told E! News.

"It's just amazing that those two people – the way they are – found the other person," he said. "It's almost surreal. I am so happy for them." Bill was just one of the famous faces who attended the star-studded wedding that took place on 27 September in Italy. Other celebrities on the guest list included George's best friend Rande Gerber and his model wife Cindy Crawford, and Hollywood couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Bill had previously revealed that, as requested of the wedding guests, he didn't bring George and Amal a gift. "They are two wonderful people and all the people there are really pulling for them," he told TMZ. "They are going to be very, very happy."

George and Amal tied the knot at the luxury Aman Canal Grande hotel, in an affectionate ceremony that was exclusively captured on the pages of HELLO! magazine. Family and star friends from more than 30 countries, many with tears in their eyes, applauded after the couple exchanged vows and platinum wedding rings during a half-hour ceremony. Amal looked exquisite as ever in a bespoke Oscar de la Renta gown that featured a gorgeous lace overlay and off-the-shoulder sleeves and was embroidered with pearls and diamanté accents. The star couple have jetted off to the Seychelles for their honeymoon on the recommendation of George's good friend Brad Pitt. The new Mr and Mrs Clooney are said to have chosen the exclusive resort of North Island – the same private venue that Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, chose for their 2011 honeymoon.
